Ryley and Camden Jameson, well-known MMA fighters and identical twins, were just as aggressive and passionate in the bed as they were in the ring. They loved a good fight, and that’s exactly what they got when they met Ashleigh Warren. The brothers had a habit of sharing things—including women—and she happened to be the only one they truly craved. However, the problem was getting her to agree to their proposition. It was one she couldn’t refuse, but she knew it wouldn’t be easy to win. Nonetheless, she sure as hell was going to enjoy it.
ERHMEGAWD I LOVE THIS MMA SHIZ
This book (prequella?) was quite literally my first foray into MMA fighters and man I think I’m going to be here to stay.
Why have I never read books on these fighters before?
Quite simple. I’ve never felt the need to. I love my covers—who doesn’t?—and MMA books give some of the best hot torso covers. But I’ve never really wanted to get into this particular genre of book.
And let it be said that Rhea will read MMA fighter books from now on. And she saw that it was good.
Ryley and Camden Jameson are ace class assholes. So of course I loved these two. They were straight up, to the point and unashamed of themselves. They’ve earned the money and I literally saw no reason to hate on either of them.
Well maybe I whined a little at Camden but meh. I’ve seen characters do worse. I’m not justifying what he did but again, meh. Besides, he pretty much paid for it.
If you haven’t read the synopsis then here’s the gist – Ryley and Camden are identical twin MMA fighters who like to share their girls. The girl has to spend a night with brother and if she passes that, then she gets the mighty privilege of sleeping with both the dickwads together.
Ashleigh is now the latest girl to be propositioned and I swear to motherfuck she’s the best. Girl. Ever.
Until of course the very end of the book.
Ashleigh is a college student, deeply in love with her best friend Cole but he’s in a relationship since the past two years so she ain’t got no chance. But here’s the twist: When she got propositioned, she went willingly. And then something happened which led to something else which led to something with Cole which then led to something with Ashleigh and Ryley.
Yeah. I’m the best at explaining stuff, aren’t I?
I can’t tell you what I didn’t like about this girl without giving away the entire book itself but for what it matters, I ended up liking the twins much, much more than Ashleigh. I liked them to begin with, but the last 20% of the book just pretty much ruined Ashleigh for me.
The writing, though…there are no words. Miss Dover has done a brilliant job bringing these characters to life. There was drama and love and sex and it just blended together to bring you (and me) one of the best novellas I’ve read this year 😀
Did she listen? Yes, for a while, but temptation can only consume you so much until you fall into its trap. There’s a certain fighter she’s interested in, and it just so happens that he’s her brother’s best friend, the only one that is completely off limits to her. However, she’s not the only one fighting temptation. Tyler Rushing can’t deny his attraction to her, but he’s afraid she’ll want more and he can’t give that to her. When he finds out that’s not the case … everything changes.
Secrets can be dangerous, but they can also be thrilling and intense. Gabriella and Tyler have no choice but to keep their time together a secret … and it’s a secret that’ll stay with them forever.
This second prequel novel of the A Fighter’s Desire series follows Ashleigh’s best friend and roommate Gabriella. She’s sister to Matt Reynolds, the current MMA Heavyweight Champion and Ryley Jameson’s very, very good friend.
She’s also deeply in lust with Tyler Rushing, Matt’s best friend.
Gabriella, in many ways, is completely different from Ashleigh. She’s just as outgoing and smart, but having a brother in the MMA field has led to her having a history with many other fighters. The point here is, while I liked Ashleigh, Gabriella just didn’t do it for me. She’s all types of shallow. She made up an elaborate plan to “seduce” Tyler and put so much of effort into it…God. Didn’t work for me. And I’m not even going to mention the end of this book.
Nope. Not at all. You’re going to have to read it to believe it.
Of course there’s this other guy who is really, really in love with her but huh. She doesn’t see it. And when she does? She doesn’t care. That was really, really cold.
But not everything’s bad about her. For starters, she’s a complete badass. Like she’s one of the people who will promise to kick your balls and actually follow up on that promise. I enjoyed reading that specific part of the book—it was amazing imagery and the person who’s ass got kicked deserved it J
Tyler, on the other hand, was an absolute pleasure to read. The give-it-like-it-is guy is charming and loyal and just so, so hot! Definite keeper, this one. He wasn’t in the book too much, but just enough to keep you intrigued and make a lasting impression.
Just like with the first novella, Miss Dover did an excellent job on the writing front. Her particular style of writing is addictive and I’m looking forward to reading the actual full-novel books!
