WHAT DID YOU THINK LEAVING ME WITH A CLIFFIE LIKE THAT? DID YOU THINK THAT’S WHAT THE COOL KIDS DO? DO YA?
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger… and they know it.
Opal, the third book in the Lux series, will give you the same feeling it gave me: Jennifer L. Armentrout lives to deliver ridiculously amazing stories and leaves you at deadly cliffhangers. And the sick part is, you’re going to love each and every character, hang on to her each and every word, and when you reach the cliffie at the end, this is going to be you:
Also, Katy is back to being my favorite of all times, people. She’s sassy and adorable but also brave and reckless and Goddammit if that isn’t my favorite combination EVER! She’s also madly in love with Daemon and GAWD, they’re so in love with each other but she never lets him get away with his crap.
A slow, wry smile teased Daemon’s lips. “Simmer down, Kitten, before I have to get you a ball of yarn to play with.”
Annoyance flared deep inside me. “Don’t start with me, jerk-face.”
She’s headstrong and upfront when it comes to their relationship, and that’s something I admire. She had the audacity to point him out when he was wrong but also admitted that she needed his help at other times. And that’s maturity, ladies and gents.
So basically, what I’m saying is that she’s this:
But she’s also this:
Daemon was…he was Daemon. He was cocky as shit and very, very in love with Katy even though the bastard never said it like, ever. I like to think that Daemon spent this entire book in complete awe of Katy. Not only was he more accepting of Katy’s ways, he was also supportive of them. He was a tad bit more all around the place because of Dawson’s return and that made him susceptible to bad decisions and shitty choices.
As for the underlying story in this book? Pfft. I’m not giving it up. Daemon? Didn’t your bad choice in Onyx come back to bite you in the ass? I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO. Katy? Honey, I don’t even know what to say to you, or how to feel about you. I feel sorry for you, like, a lot but that doesn’t even begin to cover it. I’m devastated for you and I really hope it gets better for you. Sigh.
